The Loft is a beautifully balanced and flexible contemporary design
ideally suited as a guest cottage, a mountain getaway, a lake house,
or the perfect live/work space for the artist, writer, or musician.
Based on our classic and popular curved roof Maxwell, the Loft brings an exciting new scale of living space to our prefab range without demanding a larger site footprint. Soaring to an impressive 16' exposed beam ceiling, the Loft is dramatic, airy, and filled with light. It is designed to work equally well in your backyard or at your vacation property.
The Loft is available in 3 sizes. if needed, it can be re-sized to meet your specific needs. The standard models feature an open-plan ground floor incorporating a dining/living area and our well-detailed kitchen and bathroom. The mezzanine level is located above the kitchen and bathroom and is reached via a ship-style stairway. The mezzanine provides a very intimate and generous bedroom area.
As with all of our cabins and cottages, the Loft can be installed on your concrete slab or raised foundation.

The Maxwell/Morris is our most popular and most flexible design concept. It lends itself to a virtually infinite range of configurations and we are constantly developing new uses, layouts, and modifications. Here are some ideas we have presented to clients in the past. This is a Maxwell/Morris design conceived for a client in Costa Rica as a Eco Fish Camp. It is designed to sit on tall pilings, allowing for dramatic "in-the-trees" living in coastal areas.

Here we have reconceived two of our 16'x20' Maxwell models as New England guest houses. Inspired by our trips to Newport RI, these Maxwells feature our signature curved roof and open wood beam ceiling, to which we have added a clapboard exterior and mullioned windows to echo the distinctive architectural vernacular of the region.
